P.S - A Little Bit Of The Tech
When one of the founders was interviewed for a junior position at one of the world’s largest search engines, he was asked a tricky question: “How will you find the lowest rate for a gallon of unleaded petrol in the whole country?” With no possible available answer obviously (they love these impossible questions…), he left the room without even providing a real effort. He did not get the job. But he did forward the question to his 2 roomates and together the spent the next 3 weeks trying to build an automated smart crawler that could fetch all the current prices from hundreds of different websites and applications simultaneously. They named their program Petrol Price List and continued to develop new capabilities and services in their spare time.
Today the PPL service offers accurate reliable data to thousands of people from thousands of sources all in one place and for free. Guess Google wish they have hired him now…
